"There is no crueller tyranny than that which is perpetrated under the shield of law and in the
name of justice."
Charles de Montesquieu,
1689-1755
The lobbying and political aspects of The Australian Justice Tribunal in its unincorporated form have been dismissed in its post incorporation National Constitution. This has been done to comply with the Australian Taxation Office's requirements of a Public Benevolent Institution. Accordingly, the introduction of reforms within our legal system must be left to a political group, leaving The Australian Justice Tribunal to confine itself strictly to the offering of pro bono legal services.
It will be the role of The Federal Party of Australia (FPA) to now pick up the baton of reform and run with it to the next federal election (2013/14) and we trust, beyond.
In the Federal President's Address he has a few words to say about the introduction of justice into the lives of Australians. And although The FPA is not strictly an affiliate of The Australian Justice Tribunal, its objectives will assist in lessening the necessity for The AJT to offer pro bono legal services - there will be fewer Australians requiring this assistance. This reasoning will become clearer as you read on.
www.federals.org.au will be activated immediately prior to AEC registration of The FPA as a political party.
FEDERAL CONSTITUTION (pdf 199 KB)
The Federal Constitution of The Federal Party of Australia clearly defines, in its Objectives, some of the reforms needed leading up to the introduction of an 'Advanced Legal System' as defined. And although these Objectives are only a small part of the party's broad base of policies which beneficially affect all Australians, we have isolated the policy headed: Justice Reform, and included it temporarily in this section of The AJT's website.
